I've been tagged by Michelle! This meme has been spreading like wildfire around blogland, and I'm more than happy to jump in on the fun.
Don't know the rules yet? I stole this description from Michelle's blog:
"Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and need to read your blog. The facts:"
1. Every time I eat fajitas, I ALWAYS end up biting my own lip, my cheek or my tongue HARD!! It hurts like bloody hell too, I tell you! I have no idea what causes me to do this, but it is no lie that I do this EVERY TIME. It's kinda not fair really...it's a fact!
2. When I was a kid, I seriously wanted long blond hair. I used to wear one of my mother's sheer half slips on my head and toss it over my shoulders emphatically as though it were my own flowing locks. Eventually the waist band of the slip started to get loose, so the only way to retain my gorgeous long blond hair was to secure it with either my cowgirl hat, or my Mickey Mouse ears... don't believe me?
It's a fact...Check it out:
Yes...I am a dork. Oddly enough, I have never dyed my hair blond at any point since then...although, I am going to the salon next weekend to get highlights in my hair for the first time EVAR!!! Wish me luck!
3. If there is a giant storm coming, I get really excited. I get an absolute thrill from the drama of it all, the lighting, the thunder, the melodramatic skies, the quiver of excitement you get when the power goes out, (providing of course, that noone gets hurt). I will drop almost anything that I am doing just to go outside and experience the onset of of either a thunderstorm or snow storm. Once the storm is raging, I will remain practically glued to the window so I can watch it play itself out. I think they are absolutely beautiful and I'm usually disappointed once they are over.
4. I met my husband in an online forum for Molson Canadian beer. Something that was beyond geeky 10 years ago...in fact, I'd even say at the time it was downright socially unacceptable really. We both found the website message board by a total fluke started chatting and emailed back and forth for a good long time before finally deciding to meet for coffee. We ended up dating after hanging out for quite some time, and 10 years later we married. The big reason it took us so long to marry was because we both kept moving around the province, all the while staying in our relationship.
5. Even though I acknowledge that they are NOT real, never will be, and are entirely fictional, I am totally, utterly and completely afraid of zombies. I don't have many fears in life, and I luuuuuv zombie movies but they scare the bloody bah-jebus out of me just thinking about them. I also love to scare the pants off myself...so I watch a lot of zombie movies. Yup...I think I'm officially wierd...but that's a different meme...ahem. Moving right along:
6. I danced ballet for 9 years straight and then, one day, even though I dreamed of being a professional ballerina, I gave it all up. I can't even remember why...that was over 10 years ago, but I still miss it. Must have been a really good reason...*sigh*
7. Every time I see a Mallard duck, I think of my Grandfather. He passed away after a painful battle with lung cancer a few years ago but during his lifetime he was an avid bird watcher. His favourite bird was the Mallard Duck. My Grandfather loved everyone and only wanted to help. He was a very active member of his community and volunteered at many organizations where he lived. After he passed away, he was cremated and as a memorial to him my family and I boarded a small boat early one morning and took turns sprinkling his ashes along the river that ran alongside the town he had given so much to. Afterwards, as my family and I were heading back to the car to go home, I turned to watched the boat pull away from the dock. As it slowly coasted back out onto the river, I saw a lone Mallard duck follow it all the way out into the water again and out of site. It's one of my favourite and most emotional memories in my lifetime so far.
I tag: Lin, Madge, ah heck, I'm not sure who hasn't done this one yet. If you're reading this, consider yourself tagged! *grin*
All good things,
Morrighana
